How would you call your CustoM COmponent’s Event From inside Mxml?

there are also some other MetaTags like this.

I used Text as REnderer For this Column.

Previously i used text = {listData.rowIndex + 1} to give index to each cell .
And i was complacent.
But then i came to knw that this only gets you the Row index for whatever rows you have at that time in the DataGrid.
Not the Actual no of records you might have in your ArrayCollection which you r using as your datarovider.
so i replaced it by

text= {Object(owner).dataProvider.getItemIndex(data) +1}

this gave me the exact index for that record and hence my Indexing was dine.

I also put ascending and descending sort menu for that column by reversing the data in for loop.

and using
text = {Object(owner).dataProvider.length – Object(owner).dataProvider.getItemIndex(data) } as descendingREnderer’s TExt value.

I was having a Datagrid with custom sort Functions like for Date and formatted Data.
Now I had one Index Column on Left Most Side of DataGrid which shows row indexes of records in Datagrid.

Now problem was when i sort my DG and then do apply formatting to any column or vice versa my Index column gets disturbed showng either all 0′s or all max Values.

Solution i gt was like .
Once we are sorted and do other operation lke formatting a column or inserting a row or deleting or reversing the Index Column’s values.
WE have to nullify the sort and apply again. but this not works as it seems.

1. I sorted my datagrid according to particular column’s datafield.
2. then inserting any row at any given index [not in end].
3. what it does is it calls a function getFilteredItemIndex which has this if loop that throws error.

Error says Value is not a function. When u debug the exception is thrown but in Runtime ITem is inserted at start or end
depending on your sort and it doesnt shows you any error.

Workaround can be .

1. we can disable sort for time being and enable it after insertion but that itself comes with some flaws.
2. we can use our own custom filter function for List [I have myself not implemented it though].

So its all about action , form classes and config of flow basically.

Nothing much.

Though i have not worked on Spring but it seemed to be comparatively harder to implement in big applications but much more structured and useful.

coz it takes care of all cycles namely Presentation part Middleware and Data Modelling part.

struts is primarily designed to focus on presentation tier.

In our project it takes calls from Flex UI in along with data in form of struts  Form classes objects and passes request to action classes which then further gives it to services and then all back end part is taken care by java.

Adobe Flex is very dynamic ,fast, calculative and very vast Front end technology.

coming up in the market too very fast .

Adobe flex guys with 4 yrs tag can rock in todays scenario.
